Privacy policy
Last updated November 5, 2026
This policy explains how Monotonic Labs LLC ("Monotonic", "we") handles personal information when you visit getmonotonic.app or use the Monotonic app. Monotonic is built so that your documents train only your own model and are never shared with a third-party model provider.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, organization name and billing information (processed by our payment provider).
- Content you add: files, links, connected sources, conversations and ratings. Files you upload in the web app are sent over an encrypted connection and encrypted as soon as they reach us, under keys specific to your account. Links and connected sources are fetched by our servers and stored the same way. When content arrives, our systems scan it for personal details inside Monotonic and handle what they find as you choose: hold it for your review, remove it automatically, or keep it.
- Training and service measurements: counts, scores, timings and outcomes for your organization's runs, stored under your organization's ID and never containing your content.
- Beta applications: your email address, your name or your business's, how many people would use it, the plan you're interested in, what you'd use Monotonic for if you tell us, and which page or campaign brought you to the form. Applications are made in the app and stored there; this website stores none. Email you send to beta@getmonotonic.app reaches our mailbox through Cloudflare's email forwarding.
- Website analytics: aggregate, cookieless page statistics from Cloudflare Web Analytics, with no cross-site tracking.
How we use it
We use account details to run your account and billing, and content only to train, index and answer for your own model. We use training and service measurements to run the service and improve how Monotonic trains models. We use a beta application only to confirm your email address, review the application and write to you about it and the beta. We never sell personal information or use your content to train any other customer's model.
Who processes it for us
A few providers handle personal information on our behalf, only to run Monotonic, and none of them may use it for anything else:
- Google Cloud hosts the app and stores your account and content, in the United States. Your models run there too, inside Monotonic: no third-party model provider ever sees your content.
- Cloudflare serves this website, forwards email sent to our getmonotonic.app addresses, sends our email and provides cookieless page statistics.
- Stripe processes payments. We never see or store your full card number.
Retention and deletion
You can download your data at any time. If you cancel, we keep your data and model for 30 days after the plan ends, then permanently delete them. You can also delete everything immediately from Settings. Backups that still hold deleted data expire within 14 days. Deleting covers what we derived from your content too: its searchable text and index, and the models trained on it. Training and service measurements tied to your account, which never contain your content, are deleted with your data. Logs and backups that hold them expire within 14 days. Service totals not tied to any account are kept.
Your account keeps a log of what changed in it and who changed it, never the content itself, which its Owners and Admins can read and download. Each entry is deleted after 12 months, or with your account.
A beta application you don't confirm is deleted within 14 days, backups included. A confirmed one is kept until 12 months after the beta closes, or deleted as soon as you ask us at privacy@monotoniclabs.ai.
Your choices
You can see and download everything you've added at any time, change your account details in Settings, and delete your account and everything in it. For anything else, such as a copy of what we hold about you or a correction, write to privacy@monotoniclabs.ai and we'll answer within 30 days.
Children
Monotonic is for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, isolated per customer, and access is limited to systems that serve your account. The search index built from your content, which must stay searchable, is protected by disk encryption and access controls.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update it here with a new date. If a change affects how we use information you've already given us, we email account owners before it takes effect.
